JHARKHAND
Jharkhand : was carved out of the southern 18 districts of the united Bihar and become the 28th
state of the Indian federation on 15th November 2000. It is rich in mineral resources and
also big industries.It has a vast forest cover with a rich flora and fauna. The region has a very good potential for an all round growth.
Historically and traditionally, the rule of Mithila King Janak finds mention in the Upanishads.
The region was known as Magadha, which can be found in later Vedic literature. Lord Mahavira and
Gautam Buddha were contemporaries of the sixth century B.C. Kiingdom of Bimbisara.His dynasty was
followed by the Nanda dynasty. Then came the mighty rule of Maurya and his grandson Ashoka, and so on.
