CHANDIGADH
Chandigadh : This first and the best planned modern city of India is the capital of
both Punjab and Haryana. It has been a Union Territory since 1966. Designed and planned by
the world famous French architect Le Corbusier, the work was executed by Pierre Jeanneret,
Maxwell Fly and Jane Drew. The city has been divided into several self-contained sectors,
each 246 acre, rectangular 1.2 Kms by 0.8 Kms with its own market place, hospitals, educational
institutions, places of worship, gardens and open play grounds, etc.
